men and women

So this is the start of a multi part series on the relationship between the sexes. nothing groundbreaking, but this is just the introduction, because I have a lot of friends that do not understand women.

Men base their attraction on physical features, despite what you may argue that you look for womans with a personality, you will look for physical features first. This stems from primal urges and mating with the female with the best physical attributes. Women on the other hand base attraction on non-physical features: things like power, trust, intellect, intrigue. The way into a woman's undenvear is through her mind.
Men assume that women do not want or do not enjoy sex. The truth is that men enjoy sex on a different level, they enjoy the dominance and the power (or in some cases lack of). For women the experience is the erotic imbalance of pain and pleasure at the same time. Need more proof of this: men have one type of orgasm whereas women have eight different types which are almost like a hitcher scale. Final word on this subject the penis has on average 4,000 nerve endings, compare this to the 8,000. 10,000 found in the clitoris: an gland whose sole purpose is pleasure.
Men assume there is one woman out there for every guy. Women do outlook for the "one" until they are around the age of 26. They will by all factors meet that guy before they are 26. So it is never too late to get out there because girls are always looking to meet guys.
The main reason for men not having a girlfriend or sexual partner is that they do not understand women. The main reason for not understanding women, is not being around enough of them. The main for that is well.., when was the last time you went outside and talked to a woman that wasn't a family relative or girl that sees you as a friend.

ECA Stack for fat burning, diet, and weight loss

Here is some information broken down by Tuna, on ECA stack, which is a legal stack used by bodybuilders and weightlifters during a 'cut', in which they try to lose as much weight (fat) as possible without losing any muscle mass. It is great for seeing amazing results with a propper diet and workout routine.
Here were the recommended dosages to take 3 times per day (This was the ratio used in the scientific studies that went on to prove how effective the ECA Stack was). 1. Ephedrine 20 mg 2. Caffeine 200 mg 3. Aspirin 300 mg Ephedrine: Standard safety recommendations for ephedra were not to consume more than 90mg in a 24 hour period. The pseudoephedrine is great because it comes in 30 mg doses that let you easily control the amount you take.

Caffeine: Vivarin and most generics are perfect because they come in 200 mg doses. Aspirin: I tended to worry about people taking too much aspirin so I like to tell them to find the low dose aspirin that doctors recommend to their heart patients. This low dose aspirin is 81 mg You can also find the natural herbal form of aspirin called white willow that seemed to cause people fewer problems.

The basic recipe for creating the fat burners that used ephedrine is 20 mg of ephedrine plus 200 mg of caffeine for one serving. Most companies recommended 2 or 3 servings per day. To find pure ephedrine today is really very simple. You can find this stimulating chemical in products called bronchial dillators which are used by people everyday that have breathing problems or asthma. Some brand names for bronchial dillators are Primatene, Bronk-Aid and Vasopro. You can find these products in drug stores and even in grocery stores. You can also find the 200 mg of caffeine in brand names like Vivarin or No Doze also in drug stores.

This is great information for losing fat fast!

Macronutrients of your Diet (Eating Healthy is Key to Losing Weight)

I was asked about diet, so I am going to start with the basic 3 macronutrients that are essential for your diet, losing weight, and overall healthy eating and fitness. This information is taken straight from my favorite diet guide.
Macronutrients are just things like carbohydrates, fats and proteins. All are necessary, and none are evil per se. A (sort of) quick guide:
Carbohydrates ("carbs"). Despite what you may have heard, these are not evil. They are a necessary source of energy for your body. The problem is that people over-consume certain sources of carbohydrates, most notably simple sugars from soda and candy, and starches from white bread. If you have to cut down on one macronutrient, cut down on carbohydrates. People in Western cultures consume far too many carbohydrates on average.
Proteins. These are necessary for your body to maintain its muscles, repair damage to them, and generally hold itself together. Most people get enough protein, though an intense exercise program may call for eating more for optimal results. If you cannot manage to take enough protein into your diet, protein powder may be the key.
Fats. Fats are not evil, either. Eating dietary fat does not mean that body fat will instantly appear on your gut or ass; your body doesn't work that way. Fats perform a variety of necessary functions. The problem is that people over-consume saturated fats and trans fats, which raise LDL ("bad") cholesterol and lower HDL ("good") cholesterol, and under-consume healthy fats like monounsaturated fats (found in high concentrations in olive oil and canola oil) and Omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish, flax seed oil and other sources). Fats also have more calories ounce-for-ounce than carbohydrates and proteins, making very high fat foods astoundingly calorie-dense.
There is some disagreement over what the ideal ratio of carbohydrate to fats to protein in a person's diet should be. In fact, some studies are now showing that this ratio matters much less than previously thought. For most people, something in the neighborhood of 40% carbohydrate calories/30% protein calories/30% fat calories would be about the right ballpark, with approximately 1/3 of your fat calories coming from each type of fat (saturated, polyunsaturated, and monounsaturated). The general population skews towards lower protein, and more carbohydrates and fat, and more importantly tend to get their carbs and proteins from unhealthy sources.

I don't want these diet entries to be too long, so I'll stop here and continue in another entry. Thanks for reading friends! Have a good on all.

Calorie Deficit Diet Going to be worth it when I have super low body fat

Just got back from the gym, I am currently cutting weight with a caloric deficit. It makes me super tired even with coffee and addies.
Good to see new followers! Welcome!
Anyway soft drinks are horrible for you, here's the messed up stuff that happens inside you when you drink a coke from better health news:

In The First 10 minutes:
10 teaspoons of sugar slam into your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) Instead of vomiting from the extreme sweetnes (which would most likely occur if you actualy somehow managed to ingest ten teaspoons of actual processed sugar all at once) because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down.

20 minutes:
Your blood sugar spikes, which causes your pancreous in turn to emit an insulin burst. Just like a domino, your liver will in turn respond to this by changing any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (And you've just ingested plenty of sugar, so your liver is finding alot to work with.)

40 minutes:
Your body has completly absorbed the caffeine by now. Your pupils dilate and your blood pressure rises. You liver responds and releases more sugar into your bloodstream.

45 minutes:
The dopamine production in your body is increased, which stimulates the pleasure centers of your brain. Heroin, and most other drugs, work in exactly the same way.

Over 60 minutes:
The phosphoric acid binds calcium, magnesium and zinc in your lower intestine, providing a further boost in metabolism. This is compounded by high doses of sugar and artificial sweeteners also increasing the urinary excretion of calcium.

Over 60 Minutes:
The caffeine’s diuretic properties come into play. (It makes you have to pee.) It is now assured that you’ll evacuate the bonded calcium, magnesium and zinc that was headed to your bones as well as sodium, electrolyte and water.

Over 60 minutes:
As the party inside of you dies down you’ll start to have a sugar crash. You may become irritable and/or sluggish. You’ve also now, literally, pissed away all the water that was in the Coke. But not before infusing it with valuable nutrients your body could have used for things like even having the ability to hydrate your system or build strong bones and teeth.

Pretty messed up I used to drink like 4 sodas every day!

F*ed Up Story Time Today

So I got a ride in the back of a police car last night. Today I'm not posting about health or fitness or diet. Today I will share a helpful life lesson.
I went out to the bar to watch the Pens game and talk to girls. I was with my boy Paul. So we are pounding drinks and getting pretty hammered. The one girl I see, we'll call her Suzy, calls and wants to hang out after work. I am non-committal cause I really want to meet other girls, but I will take her if no one else is available. Me and paul decide to switch bars cause there are only landwhales at the first bar. At the new bar I am buying the drinks, I leave the change from a twenty on the bar and he steal half my money when I go to the bathroom! So now I'm pissed and I get into a fight with him, he leaves and I am stranded.
So now I call Suzy to come out cause now I need a ride. When she gets there she starts talking about a relationshit. I tell her again that no I will not date you exclusively. She storms out expecting me to chase her, there is no way I'm doing that, and my phone is now dead.
So now I start walking home (about 2 miles) and it is freezing cold outside (like 0 degrees and it's snowing). Now I am dressed well, I do not look like a vagrant or anything, and I'm in the suburbs. I put my thumb out for a few cars, and instead of giving me a ride some asshole calls the cops! Can you believe that? Freezing cold, snowing, 2 AM, and people will call the cops on you before giving you a ride! People are feakin dicks!!

Anyway now TWO cop cars fly up on me and tell me to FREEZE! like I just robbed a bank. I am shaking from the cold and wet from the snow and pretty drunk. They run my name and search me, ask me about my DUI and where I live now and stuff... You know the cops were actually really cool when I told them why I was walking. They even gave me a ride home! Anyway the lesson is MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RIDE HOME before you break off any type of relationship. Also, people are dicks; but cops can be cool if you're cool to them.

Anyway have a good day everyone!

A Sweet Truth, Sugar, Fat and Obesity.

We Americans weigh on average 30lbs more than we did 30 years ago. Our fat intake has actually went down over the years as obesity has risen. Since Calories in > Calories out = weight gain, the extra calories must be coming from our carbohydrate consumption. Many will tell you that sugar(fructose) is the main culprit. Most of the fad diets (atkins, japanese, etc) cut out fructose.
1 can of soda contains 150 calories x 365 days/yr x 3500 cal/lb(3500 unspent calories is 1 lb weight gain) =15.6 lbs a year!
So drinking a can of soda per day without burning off those extra calories will make you gain over 15 pounds in a year. And that's only the can, drink just one bottle of soda a day and it's good for 26 lbs of fat in a year.
What happens when you take away the soft drinks? Well in england they did a study where they removed the soda machines from some schools, while leaving the soda machines in other schools.
The kids with soda machines kept getting fatter, the kids without access to soda at school stayed the same, the girls even lost some weight.

UCFS Center of Pediatrics Professor goes as far as to call fructose a poison in the amounts we consume.
The video is long but good if you're interested and have a free hour and a half. I'm basically giving you my cliff notes version. There's a lot of biochem in this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM
*warning-if you watch this you will probably hate yourself if you ever drink soda again!*
Lots of low-fat processed foods are pumped with sugar because low-fat processed food tastes terrible. So adding tons of sugar makes these foods palatable, and they can put low or no-fat on the label, yet they are terrible for weight loss or a healthy diet. All the sugar we eat is mostly converted to fat in our bodies, so a "low-fat" diet that is high in sugar is actually a high fat diet. Fructose IS a carbohydrate, but it is metabolized like fat
Here is what they do at UCFS to help the overweight kids lose weight and it works:

For this program, cutting out the sugared liquids is the single most important and effective factor in dieting or losing weight. When you do eat sugar, eat it with fiber. It helps your body to process the sugar and not turn it all into fat.

Do you drink a lot of soda or fruit juices? Do you think it's a form of child abuse or neglect to let our kids get obese?

Hangover Fixes

Just woke up had a hell of a night last night. A hangover is natures way of telling you "hey dumbass, you drank too much last night!" good thing it's not a gym day. Today its hangover remedies:
  1. Sleep. Rest is your best friend at this point to give your body a recover. It is best to stay in bed so call in to work if you have to, tell them you have the stomach flu. You will sound so horrible on the phone they may believe you (unless they saw you at the bar, not a good idea then).
  2. Replenish your body with fruit juice and water.
  3. Avoid caffeine. A weak cup of coffee may be okay but a lot of caffeine will continue to dehydrate you, the opposite of what you want right now.
  4. Drink orange juice for Vitamin C.
  5. Drink a sports drink like Gatorade or Powerade.
  6. Eat mineral rich food like pickles or canned fish.
Just basically work on rehydrating and replenishing vitamins. I also love excedrin and aspirin to help alleviate the pounding in my brain.

You guys got any useful tips for dealing with a hangover?

Daily Motivation

Paraphrased from someone smarter than me:

You are destined for greatness. You have it inside of you and you know it. You have always known it; felt it thumping in your gut, clawing, scratching, struggling to get free. It needs your help. As long as you hold yourself to the standard of average, that is all you will ever be. In your dreams you aren't average, so why settle for it now? What are you not doing right now that's eating at the back of your skull? Go Do It!

The time to act is now. You will burn. You will feel pain. You will suffer. Your demons will not be defeated easily. Every step of the way they will whisper in your ear that you aren't good enough. That you're not meant to succeed. "just give up. you'll never be the best." they will mutter. "NO!" you will reply. You will embrace the suffering, finish that last rep, claw through the agonizing pain. You will destroy that mediocre pussy in your head. You will break your boundaries. You will rise above the rest. You will realize your potential.
You are not an average man. Now go and do what you are destined to do. End of story.

What are you not doing because you fear failure?

 Someone smarter than me wrote:

I don't know you. I don't know anything about you; where you're from, where you're going, or what you do. I don't know if we would get along if we met. I do know one thing: You are capable of much more than you believe.
There are over 6 billion people on this planet, and the overwhelming majority of them pass through life unnoticed and scarcely remembered.
Tommorrow, as you go about your life, take time to look around and notice the people. What do you see? You see mediocrity. Average. Good enough to get by. You see everything about yourself that you hate, that you fear, but you have been taught that good enough is acceptable. Fine. Good job.
I'm here to tell you that you will NOT settle for what is fine. You will NOT settle for a good job. Fine is for the losers. Fine is for the person who skips his workout because he 'just didn't feel like it'. Fine is for the person who accepts their mediocre relationship with someone they really don't love. Fine is for the one who cheats on his diet because they just couldn't stick with it anymore. Fine is for the one who got the job, but not the job they wanted. Fine is the one who did not finish first. The one who has never experienced the fulfilling pain of personal sacrifice, never thrown themselves headfirst into the fires of dedication. Most importantly, starting today, fine is NOT YOU!

So everyone, What do you want to change about your life?

Obvious Dieting Information

You can improve your health a great deal by changing your eating patterns and the types of food that you eat. The EXTREME dieting stuff is for idiots, eating right is no big deal, it's relatively simple and painless...
First of all, cut out fast food. It is terrible for you, very calorie-dense, high in saturated and trans fat, and should be avoided by pretty much everyone. Now an occasional burger probably won't hurt, but if they know your name at McD's or BK, cut it out or you will never accomplish your fitness goals.
Also soft drinks should be cut out or at least drastically reduced. It is also calorie dense with no nutritional value, and there are multiple reasons we shouldn't be dumping simple sugars into our system. Diet soda should be avoided also. Stick to water, coffee, and tea. After a little while you won't even miss soda. Sweets should also be limited as they are full of sugar and calories.
Tune in later to learn about some tasty foods that are good for you!

So what are your fitness goals for 2011?

Keeping Track of Calories

A great website for tracking your daily caloric intake is FitDay
Another good one is Livestrong's Daily Plate
A little tip is that people tend to Overestimate the calories they burn, so time your workouts and keep track of them. People also tend to Underestimate the calories they eat, so make sure you pay attention to the actual quantity of food you are eating, not the generic serving sizes that you see on nutrition labels.

Basic for losing or gaining weight

Something 80% of Americans are overweight or obese. And according to a study I made up for this post, 95% of them would like to lose weight. So to start simple, here is some basic information.
Diet is probably the most important single factor in your health, body composition and overall appearance.  Food determines how big you are. If you consume more calories than you expend, you will get bigger. If you consume fewer calories than you expend, you will get smaller. If you meet your maintenance needs, you will stay the same. Regardless of your metabolism, body composition, genetics, or whatever, your body must obey the laws of physics and biological imperatives. Now, your calorie needs can change over time. But in the end, The reality is calories in and calories out. Everything else is just fiddling around the edges of this basic fact!
So if calories in> calories out, you will gain weight
if calories in < calories out, you will lose weight.
Exercise plays a huge role in what these calories will become, muscle or fat. To figure out how many calories you need for your lifestyle, a good start is this basic metabolic rate calculator. Next we will learn about diet specifics.

Day 1

Hey I'm Jay. Here's some motivation from someone smarter than me to kick this off.
I don't know you. I don't know anything about you; where you're from, where you're going, or what you do. I don't know if we would get along if we met. I do know one thing: You are capable of much more than you believe.

Fine is for the person who skips his workout because he 'just didn't feel like it'. Fine is for the person who accepts their mediocre relationships because they are to scared to put themselves out there. Fine is for the one who cheats on his diet because they just couldn't stick with it anymore. Fine is for the one who got the job, but not the job they wanted.
